One of the principal purposes of this website is to provide credible information on piano technology to the consumer. Many statements within may be considered critical of my peers. The intention is not to criticize but rather challenge practices that I feel can be misleading and for the purpose of profiteering only. Piano technology is not a field requiring licensure to practice. Like many unlicensed professions, its standards will be maintained only through self-policing. Those who hold high standards within the profession will help elevate it. Those who don't will be exposed, protecting the interest of the consumer.
Daniel Fusco's career in the piano industry spans four decades, with experience in service, retail, manufacturing, international marketing, and business design and development.
Daniel Fusco lives on a rural property in Oneida County, New York, with his wife and their son. The property was purchased in 1986 with money from earned-tuning and rebuilding pianos. It is now home to the family, a hobby barn full of animals, beef cattle, hay fields, organic gardens, and a world-class piano rebuilding facility.
Mr. Fusco is a graduate of the Perkins Institute of Piano Technology with certifications in piano tuning and repair and advanced rebuilding. Further education includes studying piano building practices of some of the world's finest builders, including Mason & Hamlin, Wm. Knabe and Chickering, formerly of East Rochester, NY; Steinway & Sons in both New York and Hamburg, Germany; Renner Action Parts in Germany; North Hudson Woodcraft in Dolgeville, NY; and numerous other component manufacturers around the world. This extensive training and nearly four decades of experience have allowed for the highest level of piano services.

Dan Fusco, after 32 years in Clinton, we are moving out of state and want to THANK YOU for the wonderful piano service you have provided for us for over three decades. Not only are you a consummate professional with an excellent reputation in the area, but you are a kind and generous person whom we have enjoyed getting to know. The Mohawk Valley is lucky to have such a fine craftsman, indeed an artist, in the field.
With appreciation,
- Nancy and John
I bought a new baby grand piano when I retired twelve years ago and, dissatisfied with the tuner/technician provided by the company from which I purchased the instrument, I called Dan Fusco. I had been having some minor problems with keys sticking and a few other issues as the piano became acclimated to my house. Dan is a top notch piano technician as well as tuner and I have used his services ever since. He is intelligent, calm and very reassuring. I wish I had known him before I bought my piano because he is very knowledgeable and would have been an invaluable asset in helping me to chose an instrument. I highly recommend the Grand Workshoppe Piano Company and Dan Fusco. He is neat, clean, punctual and trustworthy and, as an added bonus, you get to hear him play a little when he is done tuning!

Dan is a true professional and did a fabulous job rebuilding our Steinway piano. I highly recommend him, without hesitation.

As a birthday gift for my son I wanted to have our baby grand tuned. Checking out the web I came across the Grand Workshoppe Piano, I called them and a couple of weeks later we have a beautifully refurbished piano. Dan arrived at the agreed upon time and did an assessment. There were 5 stings broken along with a couple of hammers. Dan explained in very understandable language all that needed to be done along with the process by which the work would be completed and how long it would take. He left with the guts of the piano a half hour later only to return in a couple of weeks (the time we had agreed upon in the beginning!) with a beautifully refurbished instrument. A few minor adjustments were made and we were good to go. 88 keys of beauty and sound graced our home once again. Dan’s work is professional and complete. His expertise in the industry is impressive and he is totally cognizant to the needs of his customer. The cost is very reasonable and attached to excellent service and quality of workmanship. As for me and my family, we will always return to the Grand Worshoppe.

Dan Fusco is the best piano professional I have ever used. His piano tuning is quick and extremely well done. I was impressed with his ability to fix scratches, dings, and other wood repairs as well. My piano has never sounded or looked better!

I had a remarkable experience with DFusco Piano Services. Dan, who is incredibly experienced, friendly, and professional, worked on my inherited old baby grand piano. My goal was to revive it both in terms of tuning and aesthetics. Let me provide some context: my piano needed substantial work, as it initially sounded like a parlor piano from a bar.
Dan was excellent at explaining the necessary steps and was fair in pricing for the tuning process. He even offered me different options and provided advice on how to "deep clean" the piano. Although I wanted to take on the cleaning project myself to bond with the instrument, Dan insisted on doing it at the end.
After the initial tuning, he took my keys with him for a couple of TLC fixes. Throughout the process, he sent me progress pictures, showcasing the transformation. When he returned the piano, it sounded significantly better, even before the second tuning. His attention to detail was commendable.
The final result? My once parlor piano now shines as a beautiful Kimball baby grand, both a joy to play and a stunning display piece (just need to finish reupholstering the bench). I wholeheartedly plan to continue utilizing Dan's services for future tunings.

I had a great experience with this company. Dan let me sit in and learn some things about his craft so I could better maintain a somewhat rare string based electric piano of mine. I learned quite a bit and enjoyed his company and our conversation along the way. Also worth noting he was able to cobble together a replacement string that would otherwise have been a much more costly custom job if I had used another service. Overall excellent service and an excellent guest as well. Thanks Dan.
